Requirements to apply for U.S. Citizenship
- Be a lawful permanent resident
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Meet the requirement for continuous residency and physical presence
- Live for at least 3 months in State or USCIS district where you will file your application
- Can speak read and write basic English
- Have good moral character
- Pass a test about U.S. history and government
- Be willing to take oath of allegiance
