What are we voting for in November?

In November, New York voters will vote for Governor, NYS Comptroller, U.S. Senator, House of Representatives, NYS Senators, NYS Assembly Members.
New Yorkers will also vote on 4 Ballot iniatives:
  1. Clean Water, Clean Air, and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act of 2022
  2. Add a Statement of Values to Guide Government
  3. Establish a Racial Equity Office, Plan, and Commission
  4. Measure the True Cost of Living

Important Dates

Primary Election - this year there will be TWO primary elections. 
  • June 28 - vote for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, NY State Assembly Member, NY State Comptroller, NY State Attorney General.  Winners from this primary will run in the November general election.
  • June 18-June 26 Early Voting for Primary Election (in-person)
  • Tuesday, June 28 Election Day (Last Day to vote)
  • August 23 - vote for U.S. Congress Member, NY State Senate Member. Winners from this primary will run in the November general election.
    • Wednesday, August 3, 2022  Have you moved? Deadline to update your address for August 23 election
    • Monday, August 8, 2022 Not able to vote in person? Deadline to apply for an absentee ballot
    • August 13-August 21 Early Voting for Primary Election (in-person)
    • Tuesday, August 23 Election Day (Last Day to vote)

General Election
  • Friday, October 14: Deadline for new voters to register to vote in the General Election
  • Friday October 24: Not able to vote in person for the Primary Election?  Deadline to apply for an absentee ballot
  • October 29-November 6: Early Voting for General Election (in-person)
  • Tuesday, November 8: Election Day (Last Day to vote)
